Thesis Title: Zero Carbon School Design in the UK Context

David Coley

About

My research focuses on the design of zero carbon schools for the UK.  The government's ambition is for all schools constructed after 2016 to be 'zero carbon'. As yet no such schools have been built.

I am assisting a design team in Devon who are working on the first such school to be built in England.  In addition I will be modelling a range of other options for achieving zero carbon in use, and attempting to identify the key barriers to such buildings in the UK context.
